About Rick and BBR

Allow myself to introduce….myself. Growing up in Vancouver, you live a relatively laidback lifestyle. Things are never as busy as New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, or Hong Kong, but Vancouverites are always on the lookout for the next big thing, sexy style, or trendy doo-dad. Some say Vancouver is Hollywood North, that may be true, but in this Hollywood, we can actually breathe the air outside. Our highways are filled with thousands of cars, rather than millions. We will never be the fashion capitol, or the center of technologies greatest hits, but we will be ourselves. Never outdone, yet never overdone. Vancouver breeds fine well-rounded specimens. I am one of them.

I have spent 23 years defining my palette, developing my style, and curving my wisdom into something sensible. I work in the entertainment industy and care about deliving strong messages to the generations before and after us. We all deserve to be heard, and will only be as loud as our efforts allow us. I want people to know how I am. I want to show the world how much I care about it. I want to reach my fullest potential. My main problem is that I don’t know how to get there.

So here I am now, blogging to my heart’s content. Pennies a day from adsense don’t quite pay the rent, but at the end of the month it might get me a double Bombay and Tonic. Do I blog for money? No. I blog because I like it. No one can keep up a blog daily if they don’t like it. Do I want to make money from this blog? Why not. I feel I offer great content that readers can enjoy daily. The demographic for the site is 14-30yrs old. Probably the majority will be male readers, but the ladies are always welcome. I think people read here not because of the things I review, but because of my personal reviews. I always give an honest opinion and best efforts to review something throughly.

You will find here my thoughts, opinions, and reviews on: Movies, Music, Blogs, Clothes, Cars, Tech gear, random cool things, websites, and other weird and unique things. That’s why its called the Bento Box Review. See I am half Japanese. The name’s Uyesugi….Rick Uyesugi. Uyesugi, pronounced Oo-eh-soo-gi, is a name that stems from ancient Japanese culture. It was the name of a famous samurai. Don’t believe me?

Anyhow, a traditional Japanese bento box consists of rice, fish or meat, and one or more pickled or cooked vegetables as a side dish. A variety! I think it is a very suitable name for this blog, don’t you?

I will continue to blog here as long as I enjoy it. Feel free to say what you please in the comments or in emails to me. Just be prepared…..NO ONE CAN DEFEAT A SAMURAI!
