The Club Scene Style

It’s pretty much a given now that my friends and I hit a club every weekend. Bar, lounge, dance club…something always goes down. Now some would say that when you go out it’s all about having fun and what you look like is a small priority. There is nothing wrong with that line of thinking, but if you want to be noticed, and be thought of as at least having some style then heed my words.

First of all, you need to do some homework. Where will you be going? What will the crowd be like? Can you be versatile and flexible, or is formality a must. These are the questions I ask myself everytime before I leave the house. Here is a picture from tonight.

In the picture with me is a guy we like to call Fu. He is wearing a limited editon hoodie, less than 100 in print, and that is his style. Exclusiveness. It gets noticed because no one is wearing it. It goes well with jeans and his personality shows through.

We were at a large dance club which means there is over 1000 people and it is important to peacock a bit. There are tons of guys going to be there wearing black button-up shirts. If you want your own style you need to break away from that.

Normally I would wear a collared shirt, but for me comfort is just as important as style. The club is hot and crowded.  I opted for a t-shirt from Mexx ($35) and custom blazer. I think all guys should spend some money and invest in a good dark colored blazer. I am wearing it with dark jeans, but it works well with dress pants or the matching slacks. All depends on the place you are going. Now I am not the only one going for the t-shirt/blazer combo these days, that is why I went for a vibrant color. I saw many guys wearing this combo but with white t-shirts. Again, it’s all about personal style.

Try to summarize your’s in three words. For me it’s: Classic, Colorful, and Clean. If I wear a shirt that is wrinkly, it’s meant to be that way. The classic look will never go out of style. Just pick up some magazines, you will see what I am saying. I will try to do this article everytime I go out, you will get to see what I am wearing and what some of my friends are too. They are all obsessed about the latest and greatest.
